Au Petit Nice

I pray for the downfall of this establishment and I curse it. The menu is far too varied, with abysmal quality and quantity. Don't order the paella, or simply don't come.

This restaurant is a disgrace to Avignon. As a local, I avoid three-quarters of the restaurants on Place de l'Horloge and head to Place Pie instead, where you'll find respectable restaurants that aren't tourist traps.

Zero stars. If I could have refused to pay, I would have! But what is the health inspector waiting for to finally shut down this restaurant? What am I saying? This filthy establishment is poisoning poor tourists!! On top of that, the unpleasant and lying owner told us his paella was so good that his customers keep coming back. Was he perhaps talking about rats?! In any case, we were served frozen paella with a chicken drumstick for the "royal" touch! It was over in two bites; we had to buy bread a little further away to fill ourselves up. The health department really needs to do something urgently before a customer, or even a child, dies from food poisoning. It always takes a tragedy to act! It's shameful!!!! It's unfortunate that restaurants like this tarnish the image of such a beautiful city

We ordered a €17.50 set menu: a small Niçoise salad (nothing much to say), condiments on the table that allowed us to make our own sauce, and a very small portion of rib-eye steak with fries. The steaks themselves were sinewy, greasy, and not very good—barely a single, awful piece of meat. Dessert was ice cream, which was okay. Everything wasn't bad, but most importantly, it was inedible. Not to mention that nobody seemed to know where the dishes were going, despite the table numbers. Don't eat in the square; find something better in other streets and pay with a credit card, because otherwise I don't think the VAT benefits the government.

I strongly advise against this restaurant; it almost made me want to vomit. This restaurant nearly shocked me. The young waiter, who seems to be the chef, only manages to run around like a madman whenever passersby approach, trying to lure them in with the promise of a Sicilian chef. But once you're seated, that's it; you're treated like a cash cow, regardless of what you think. The owner makes no further effort and pays very little attention. I think the other waiters are ashamed and embarrassed to work in this restaurant, which is why they seem so rude. But they can't single-handedly blame the deplorable and filthy kitchen, the ridiculously talented chef (my wife asked for a glass of dry white wine, and he didn't even know what it was—unbelievable!), the disgusting cheap white wine they charged 4 euros for, and... you should see the starter I was served: a practically empty, unappealing plate of canned eggplant instead of carbonnata. In short, I thought he was bringing food for my dog, but no, unbelievable! The main course wasn't much better, but the worst part was the €6 tiramisu. You really should see it; we burst out laughing, wondering if it was a joke. Honestly, we hesitated to pay, and it's the first time in my life I've ever done that, but we knew exactly what he was doing. He only cares about money, and he wouldn't have let us go. He only thinks about lining his own pockets; you only have to watch him. The bill really left a bitter taste for us, since we don't have high salaries and we wanted to treat ourselves. Disgusted! 😨

It is a typical tourist trap restaurant. The food is terrible. The paella tastes a steam rice. It is cooked everything separately and just put it on a hot plate. Not recommended to anyone.

I STRONGLY ADVISE AGAINST THIS RESTAURANT if you want food poisoning, this is the place for you!! The carpaccio was bland! The medium-rare ribeye was like shoe leather, the frozen fries were swimming in oil, the peach kir was tasteless, and the white wine was plonk... I had heartburn. A disgusting meal... and the bill was €31 for that! Honestly, AVOID IT... it's not FRESH!! To pay, you have to go into the restaurant, you can see the kitchen... the kitchen is FILTHY... The cashier couldn't add three figures, he had to use his cell phone to do the bill, HELP!!

Not (too) expensive and not good. There are plenty of terraces in Avignon to avoid this one.

A double zero!!! The white meat was definitely cracked from being frozen. Really not good! I understand now that I see the other reviews!!!!

Confirmed, it’s bad, we avoided ordering food after we got the drinks.
